The Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge (MBZIRC) is an international robotics competition held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, every two years. The competition draws participation from universities, research centres, companies and individual innovators from all over the world to develop real-world solutions to some of the pressing global challenges through the application of autonomous robotic technology.

  • 2021White Paper Phase 01 Oct, 2021 - 31 Jan, 2022

    White paper submission deadline has now passed.
    Semi-finalists will be announced in March 2022.

  • 2022Simulation Phase Oct 2022

    Shortlisted semi finalist teams will complete inspection and intervention tasks via simulation in the presence of a judging committee. Proof-of-concept videos on different subcomponents of their system need to be submitted to demonstrate the feasibility of the approach used.

  • 2024Demonstration Phase Feb 2024

    Live demonstrations will be held over several days in a specially designated marine area off the coast of Abu Dhabi, when five finalist teams will put their systems to the test
