LARICS

University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing

The Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems – LARICS - is a research laboratory within the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (https://larics.fer.hr/). It was founded in 1996 and is headed by professor Zdenko Kovacic. LARICS research is focused on control, robotics, and intelligence in the areas of flying, walking and driving robots, manipulation, warehousing, as well as collective and automotive systems. Particular emphasis has been given to collaboration with industry, which resulted in many successful implementations of novel control algorithms and human‐machine‐interfaces in industrial plants. Currently LARICS researchers (4 professors, 2 post-docs, 13 PhD students) are involved in several international (AeRoTwin, Encore, Endorse, subCULTron, AerialCore) and domestic projects (Specularia, ASAP, Hektor).

LARICS team for the MBZIRC competition is headed by professor Stjepan Bogdan and consists of 2 professors (Stjepan Bogdan, Matko Orsag), 1 post-doc (Frano Petric) and 11 PhD students (Barbara Arbanas, Marko Car, Antun Ivanovic, Marsela Polic, Ivo Vatavuk, Ivan Hrabar, Ana Batinovic, Lovro Markovic, Antonella Barisic, Marko Krizmancic, Robert Milijas). We are participating in all three challenges and in the Grand challenge.
